I'm On A Mission

First of all, I'd like to welcome the influx of followers to my blog in the last few days.  It's overwhelming to see such an awesome response.  In case you didn't see, I hit 100 followers and I really want to do another giveaway to celebrate, but I wasn't prepared to have to do it so soon!  I'm going to work on remedying this with what I hope is going to be something you guys will all like.  In the meantime, welcome to my blog and thanks so much for following!

But moving on, today I have a question to pose to you all: What is your go-to white cream polish?

I have to say, white is probably my most-used nail polish because when it comes down to it, I use it for almost every manicure.  I use it for a plain canvas, for blending that perfect shade, for polka dots, for hearts!  I use it for highlights, for underwear for bright colors, for test swatches!

I've gone through a couple bottles of white, starting with Essie's Blanc.  That bottle didn't work out, since I was relatively awkward at polishing my nails at that point and I frankened it away.  I replaced it with China Glaze's White on White, which was a little easier to work with, probably my best bottle of white so far.  After I got about halfway through that bottle and it got a little chunky, I turned to OPI's Alpine Snow.  I loved Alpine Snow for the first third of the bottle, but now, after the last couple manicures fighting with it, I am completely frustrated with white nail polish.

But I can't live without it, you see?

What I'm really looking for is a white that I can use to cover the nail as a base or a blank canvas for nail art.  I can deal with three coaters, but more than that and I start thinking it looks super chunky, especially with Princess Lolly painted on top!

At two-thirds of a bottle, my Alpine Snow became chunky and streaky to the extreme.  Normally, I can fix this with thinner and patience, but this time, oh, this time, things are not working out.  The resulting accidental horrible mess that I turned it into took several different days of thinning it to death and nearly throwing it out my window on one occasion, but I somehow created a super thin and streaky white mess out of my once awesome Alpine Snow.  The patience I normally have coaxing my frankens into pretty things doesn't extend to white nail polish.  It takes 4-5 coats of this mess to reach a clean, smooth, opaque finish!  Darn it all!

So I'm asking all of you for your advice and your stories of white nail polish!  Help me!  You're my only hope!

  1. I have Zoya Purity and I LOVE it! It's perfect, opaque, smooth, and streak free. Before that, I used to use Insta-dri Sally Hansen white. I'd get about 2-3 manicures before it got completely goopy and nasty. But Zoya Purity is great. :)

    1. Oh I love Zoya, I just don't love how there's no where local to buy it =( I'll probably have to get it off their site to give it a try. Thanks!

  2. I feel your pain! I use China Glaze White on White, but Barry M Matt White was pretty good. It's so hard to find a good white polish!
