Candyland Series: Princess Lolly

I was trying to figure out what to paint my nails last night so I asked my BFF.  She comes up with the best ideas, honestly.  After a few rejected ideas, she brought up Candyland, that classic children's board game that I kind of LOVED as a kid.  I had a 1980s version, from what I can remember, with this Princess Lolly.

I Googled her and came up with a lot of new incarnations where she's waaaay more...well, you know, sexed up.  Luckily, I ran across this picture, just the reference I needed.

This is what I came up with.  I really wanted to continue my Valentine's Day manicures but this was too much fun to pass up.  Princess Lolly is just too adorable!

And candy is sort of Valentine's Day related, isn't it?  I mean, it is a holiday based almost completely around acquiring it for someone you love so they can eat it and maybe love you back, right?  Right.

I also really want to be her for Halloween now...

In any case, I've decided to run with this Candyland idea and I'm planning on doing a few more tributes to these beloved characters on my nails this week.  I hope you'll tune in for it!  Thanks for reading!

  2. Just found your blog, and this is one of my favorite nail art ideas ever! You did such a great job matching the colors and freehanding the design!
