Lacquer Convention: Swinging London Collection

Hi guys!  Over the last few weeks, I've been super busy tending to my Lacquer Convention Etsy store and all the problems of moving a business across a couple states.  Part of it has been dedicated to trying to finally release some new colors.  Today, I'm going to show you the Swinging London Collection.

Above (Left to Right): Oh My Mod!, Mondrian, Double Decker Bus and Go Go Boots.

Double Decker Bus

First up, we have Double Decker Bus, red glitter of various sizes in a clear base with accents of steel silver, white and black hexagons.  These pictures show one coat over Zoya Carey.

  

Go Go Boots

Next, we have Go Go Boots, a white glitter polish in a clear base with multi-colored iridescent shimmer.  There are diamonds, hexagons, squares and bars in this fun polish.  It is pictured here in one coat over China Glaze Concrete Catwalk.

These pictures show one coat of Go Go Boots on the tips of the nail over Color Club Pucci-licious. 

Mondrian

This is Mondrian, inspired by the classic color blocking painting that showcases the three primary colors.  This polish is a clear base filled with gold, red and blue hexagons with white squares and black bar glitter.  These pictures show one coat over American Apparel's Lopez Canyon.

 

Here we have Mondrian over Zoya Trixie in one coat.

 Oh My Mod

Oh My Mod! is a wild and crazy mix of many different shapes, sizes and colors, including squares, hexagons, bars and stars in a clear base.  Pictured here, it is layered over some basic cremes in one thick coat.

NAiLd'It: Geyser Dew

Hi everyone!  Today I have another nAiLd'It polish for you, Geyser Dew!  Let's take a look, shall we?

I started out layering Geyser Dew over a mystery shimmery blue from Sinful Colors (I bought it on sale and the label is missing!).  It turned out to be a really pretty and glowy mani, but my camera absolutely hated it, so I apologize that you can't see everything in these first photos.  In person, the effect is definitely eye-catching because you could see more of a contrast.

These photos show two coats over blue.  It applied pretty well, but I didn't really get much of the larger glitter out of the bottle.  Next time I'm going to let it sit upside down for a few minutes before I paint.  It was a bit of a hungry glitter and after a coat of Gelous and a coat of SV it still had a little texture to it.

I decided to layer it over pink for a second set of pictures so you could better see this polish.  It's a mix of matte glitters and satin-matte glitters.  I liked it over the blue, but I think it's fabulous over bright pink, even better than the blue!  I only used one layer over pink because I loved the contrast of the glitters with the base.  This time, one coat of Gelous and one coat of top coat smoothed it out perfectly.

Naild'It Nail Polish: Summer Lovin Melon

Hi guys!  It's been a while!  My husband and I are settled again in California finally!  My monitor got a little damaged during the trip so I ordered a new one and took a little time to spend with my family, but now I'm back again.  Today, I have a review for you of a great indie polish, Summer Lovin Melon by nAiL'DiT Unique Polish.

This polish is pretty much the perfect visual incarnation of a watermelon.  It's really fun and fresh and definitely summery.  The larger hexes are the perfect shade of watermelon pink!  It also has lighter pink, green, white bar, black square and black heart glitter!  It's a mix of metallic and matte glitters, which really works nicely here to give it a nice depth.

These photos show one coat over Zoya Tracie, which I really dig as a base for this because of its brightness.  It helps the glitter stand out!  Application was very easy.  I didn't actually have to hunt for the hearts and they came out of the bottle easily, though I did flip them on the nail so they faced the direction I wanted for this mani.  I smoothed it out completely with a layer of Gelous and a layer of top coat.

Pink Wednesday: Rainbow Honey Pinkie Promise

Hi guys!  It's been a while since I've done a pink Wednesday mani post on the blog, so it worked out perfectly that I still needed to show you my Pinkie Promise pictures!

This is my favorite polish from the Rainbow Honey Equestria collection, partially because it is inspired by my favorite pony ever, Pinkie Pie!

While I was snapping pictures, my hubby handed me the souvenir he picked up from a Vegas road trip with his dad a couple weeks ago.  I took a couple pictures with it to show you just what a girl I am.  I love pink!  And Hello Kitty... and My Little Pony and pretty things... My husband always tells me, "You're such a girl."  I don't mind.  I like what I like!

However, I am actually shy of pink nail polish unless it is a more bold, bright or neon color.  And even then, I have trouble liking a lot of shades on me.  I think it's my color weakness, I don't love just any pink on my nails!

Pinkie Promise, however, is a definite winner though.  For these photos, I used three thin coats with no underwear.  There is a tad of visible nail line in the photos, but it didn't show up in real life.  It had great coverage and the formula was even and easy to work with.  I really enjoyed it this way, but I am dying to wear it over a bright and fun pink some time!  Or a gradient from the cuticle! (But I PROMISED that I wouldn't do that with the rest of these pony polishes, lol!)

This time, I just have to link you to a quick Pinkie Pie video so that you can see her and why this is the perfect Pinkie polish.

I just love how sparkly and fun this is.  It's a party in a bottle!  The golden shimmer really kicks it up a lot.

Cover Band: Sticks and Stones

Hi there!  Today I'm working on finding my two winners from my Pop Tart Giveaway.  I'm verifying entries and hopefully I'll announce them before the end of the night!

In the meantime, I'm going to show you today's manicure.

I placed an order for Sticks & Stones from Ninja Polish almost as soon as it came out, but it's been sitting on my desk waiting to be worn until today.  It's very similar to Lynnderella's Connect the Dots, which I also have in my stash.  S&S has larger more scattered black and white glitter than my CtD, which made it work better in this manicure that I've wanted to do.

The base color is one of my favorite go-tos, Zoya Breezi.  I topped Breezi with a random, very scattered glitter top coat with purple hexagons and smaller purple and silver holographic glitter.  On top of that, I layered Sticks & Stones.

I wanted to do this on top of pink for Pink Wednesday, but once I picked up Breezi, it was all over, no contest.  I love this color too much!
